The Natalini's live in Chesterfield, Virginia. Although they
are both employed, Alby & Krissy Natalini try to dedicate as
much time as possible to this highly important cause. Leila is
their youngest of four children, among them Devin, Kayla &
Quinn.
Leila Julianna was born at Chippenham Hospital
in Richmond, VA, on February 19th, 2008 and was "reborn"
on February 22, 2008, after a sudden cardiac arrest at three
days of age. Her heart was restarted at St. Francis Medical
Center in Midlothian, VA, after which she was transferred to
St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, VA, for further care and
therapeutic hypothermia treatment.
Leila stopped breathing due to a SIDS (Sudden Infant Death
Syndrome) scare, the leading cause of death among infants
age newborn through one year. Alby & Krissy have no
professional medical background, but had taken an infant
CPR course before Leila's birth "just in case."
Leila Julianna, their little "Jewel," has since become the center of a cause that hits so close to home for the Natalini's. Their goal is to reach out to parents and caregivers through the hope that Leila and her story inspires.
They intend for the foundation to fund and support programs to bring education and awareness of infant and pediatric CPR to every parent across America.
Knowledge is power...and that power can save a life...maybe even the life of your own child.
